Summerween

I am trying to have some summer fun. I am just embracing what is close to home at the moment.
How are you all doing? It's been very hot here so I don't go out much in the heat as it makes me a very moody person. lol

Linking up with Friday Face Off  Hosted by the lovely and talented Nicole.

Linking up with the lovely and talented Gillena  for Art For Fun Friday.

Even though it is Saturday today I wanted to join in and share the love.

On Monday went to the local Library.
These are the two Library books that I took out and I absolutely loved "Pumpkin Heads" by Faith Erin Hicks. I actually really enjoy graphic novels, they are so fun to read.

Went out to a cafe and had a sandwich, salad and coffee and paid too much for this by the way.
Prices are very high at the moment. I rarely go out to eat.

I brought my Leuchtturm1917 with me and did some journaling.

So bright and bold and a happy colour.

I had to decorate my journal with stickers.
I love stickers.

New Artwork and a New Art IG Account

I used gouache paints.

My husband bought me a Blind Box of POP MART Nyota Where Moments Meet Series Plush Doll and I got the ARTIST! :) I think that is serendipity.

I am trying to enjoy little moments and pretend I am on vacation mode. lol

I bought two books on Monday. I'm very into Summerween at the moment.
"How to Survive a Horror Movie" and "Tastes Like Candy" and  "Welcome Fear City" which I purchased last year.

Before the heat wave I sat outside.

Journaling daily on a regular notebook.
Not a fan of this one and can't wait to finish this notebook.
Paper matters and this journal is not my favourite.

Thank you so much for visiting and reading my blog!

I haven't vlogged this month yet but maybe I will make a fun "Summerween" vlog.

Have a lovely weekend!

Hello June! Art And Nature

Hello friends! Happy June! The nice weather has arrived and I've made a few art shorts and a couple of youtube videos. I am happy and excited for summer but just as long as the weather stays in the 20's

I've been having challenging days since I turned 50. Not going to lie. I am feeling a bit lost in the direction of my creative creations. Not sure where, what, how and why. LOL Hopefully I can express my self through my art.

Joining in with Friday Face Off hosted by the talented Nicole and Art For Fun Friday hosted by the talented Gillena.

May 24th was my 23rd wedding anniversary and hubby bought me flowers and also a lovely patio set where I can sit and read outdoors.

I am truly grateful.

I've been enjoying my morning walks and managed to get my nails done. They do look pretty but how on earth do people work with long nails? I am not getting them done again. lol

I hope you are having a lovely June and I hope you are staying creative.
Some recent films that I watched and love:
Uptown Girls
Amelie
Agneta

I truly wish you the very best in June!
Thank you so much if you are reading this and thank you for your comments.
Love and hugs

T Stands For The Artist's Way & Solo Art Dates

Hello Friends! Happy Tuesday! Today I am linking up with Bluebird and Elizabeth's Blog

I am working through "The Artist's Way" and I am enjoying the process. I took myself on one solo art date but have missed three. I need to complete these tasks and maybe tomorrow I will succeed in this challenge. The only difficulty is that I live far from cafes, libraries and galleries. I am sure I can just go out in nature but it is still too cold here in Ontario.
Hello Spring? Where are you?
I can walk for 30 min to get to the shops or take Uber.
I will try my best tomorrow and I will for sure let you know how it goes.

This was week one Solo Art Date and I had a lovely time! An iced coffee and also had a chicken sandwich and salad. I sketched and used watercolours. Truly fun.

I painted two paintings for friends and I can't wait to show you them.
I don't want to spoil their surprise so I will show you them after they receive them.

I also finished my big yellow sketchbook and want to make a video going through each page.
I will try to get that done soon.

NEW VLOG!

Solo Artist Date and Getting Creative

Happy Friday everyone. Linking up to FFO over on Nicole's Blog.
Nicole's Art Inspires me so much :)

I had a lovely creative week. It was a challenge balancing housework and making time for artwork, but I made some time and came up with the following:

Black and white portrait
I really like her and I think I want to frame her.

This is the last drawing in my big sketchbook.
I will be making a flip through of the sketchbook soon.

Gouache Landscape

Acrylics and gouache
Spring Flowers

Gouache Landscape Painting
I am still trying to get to know gouache more.

Went on a solo art date as a part of "The Artist's Way" book that I am currently reading.
I went to Bella Aurora Cafe and it was challenging for me to draw and paint in public but I pushed myself and did it.

I had a yummy chicken sandwich with a salad and iced coffee.
I am definitely going back for dessert!

I hope you all had a lovely week. I am excited for March and I hope that spring will come soon. I look forward to nice weather and flowers.  I look forward to walks in nature and want to paint in nature more often.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I appreciate all your comments and thank you so much for all your lovely support and kindness. Have a lovely weekend,

Peace, love and good health,

Maria
