Winter Wonderland and Whimsical Wonder

Linkin up with

Winter

Winter wonderland is here and it is cold outside. I've been enjoying winter walks in the forest paths and I love the sounds of nature in the cold. The branches clanking and whipping each other, the birds sing and tweet, the squirrels rustle through the leaves to find seeds and nuts. I've been writing a lot of nature poems and would like to share them with you soon. I take my book out in the forest and write what I feel. I feel so much whimsy and wonder in the forest. I truly miss the forest in PEI. We lived close to this magical trail and I loved it so much. At the moment I am living close to another trail, I can still hear a little city noise, it's okay though. I am grateful.

I have been enjoying filming daily for Vlogmas on my Youtube Channel and I am finding with daily vlogs it really makes me focus on the daily things that sometimes we can take for granted. I am finding that each day has beauty and magic. The pink skies and the sun rising, the lights on the Christmas tree, the hot cuppa coffee, the snow that sits on the trees like fluffy cotton. All these little things are beautiful and magical to me. I am grateful.

Winter is truly a wonderland and whimsical, it is playful and helps my imagination to come to life. I love to express what I imagine though my art and videos. I am appreciative and grateful. The sense of wonder comes out when I take walks. I do pretend I am a kid again and wonder always what is around the corner or around the tree. My imagination kicks up in nature. The only thing I don't do is run around and frolic in nature. I walk but I wonder if that would change how we feel if I actually run like a kid again. Have you tried to frolic and run in nature? I wonder why certain things fade as we grow older. Why do we lose our sense of wonder, excitement and enthusiasm and forget how to play? Why would it feel "silly" if we jump or hop around like children? I feel we should skip, jump and frolic like we did when we were kids. I think we should awaken our sense of playfulness and have fun. I feel we should bring back our sense of wonder and do more pretending.

  7. You really have snow there! I have two tea-advent-calenders - I mean, tea, right! And they all have a quote.
Not blurry. Mine is "It´s a wonderful life". It was on TV (in German) and Dad would watch i with us every Christmas. Now I have the DVD and watch it every season in the original.
Hmmm, pizza!!! We lose our excitement when Christmas cookies are in the stores already in September, me at least. When I was a kid, December it was!
    Cute drawings, Maria!
