Happy Friday!
This week was an okay week but I am lacking energy and motivation.
When do you start decorating for Christmas? I think I am going to start decorating this weekend.
I need some lights and Christmas decor to get me uplifted.
⭐️
This week I did create a little artwork and I managed to put together the last Vlog for October.
Have a look if you like.

🌟
This was done on Thursday November 6th on Pastel Paper,
I used my phone to work on a self portrait for Nicole's Challenge.
I am going to keep working on my self portrait with a variety of mediums to explore and learn more.
I used chalk pastels. I feel I need a lot of practice with measurements and proportions.
I do have a book that I am going to look over and It has technical lines and measurements that I can learn from.
I kindly won gouache paints from this brand on Instagram.
I am truly grateful.
A video of the swatches.
Painting with the gouache paints and testing them out.
I notice gouache paints dry flat.
I need to work with them more.

Wonderful pastel portrait ~ lovely post, photos and video too ~ thanks ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
OMGosh how fortunate to win paints and fragrance. Yes, gouache does dry flat. I don't use it very often so I can't help in how to fix that. However, you are such an accomplished artist I am sure you will figure it out. LOL The self portrait you are going to use for the challenge keep saved for the 28th. I will say that you did capture your likeness and I love the colors. Your art journal is amazing. I love that you use all different mediums. I think I should do that more. Thank you for joining FFO and have a very nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello Nicole! Happy Friday! I definitely will keep the self portrait saved for sure! :) I think will use pencil for that one. Thank you for hosting a wonderful party as always! Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much!

ReplyDeleteAmen! :) Have a lovely weekend Tom!
DeleteLovely art!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine! Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteWhat's a lovely post and a wonderful way to say goodbye to October. The outside views have definitely changed this month here in NH. And nice art too. I need to get working on my self portrait, but I loved seeing yours. Isn't it fun to try all different media? I hope you have a wonderful weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Erika! Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteI love seeing your art. It's delightful. I start holiday decorating the day after Thanksgiving, which is late this year -- November 27. I'll try to get things prepped and some things hidden upstairs before so I can get going as soon as I get up! I really have to work on my self portrait, otherwise I'll have to share two, one done decades ago, one more a sketch!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jeanie! Have a lovely weekend! I too have to start the portrait for the challenge. Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteYou have some lovely art here, Maria, and I do like the self portrait a lot.
ReplyDeleteI don't decorate much for Christmas. We will have an advent wreath and if I ever find my traditional craftwork German decorations ever again, they will come out, too. We do put lights on the house, though - we call them winter lights, not Christmas lights. They stay from the weekend after Thanksgiving until Daylight Saving Time begins.
Thank you Carola! Winter lights sound wonderful! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a lovely November!
DeleteMaria, I love how open and genuine your post is. It’s inspiring to see someone so immersed in the process of creating, experimenting, and learning. Your self-portrait journey and playful notes about messy lines make art feel approachable and human. The little touches about snail mail and gifts from friends really add warmth too.
